Microsoft Introduces Bing Chat and Microsoft Copilot Plugins with ChatGPT Standard for Better Intero

Microsoft is making significant efforts to maximize its advantage in generative AI technology over its competitors, particularly Google. Recently, during the Build 2023 event, Microsoft announced the release of Bing Chat and Microsoft Copilot plugins that aim to enhance the functionality of AI systems not only on their platforms but also on third-party services.

These plugins will use the same standard as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, ensuring seamless interoperability between the plugins of both platforms. In other words, ChatGPT, Bing Chat, and Microsoft Copilot services will be able to use the same plugins with minimal intervention from developers.

This development is excellent news for developers and enthusiasts alike since third-party plugins will not be limited to a specific platform. However, it is important to note that Microsoft's commitment is limited to two commercial partners linked by billionaire investment. The news will only be groundbreaking if Google, with its Bard, agrees to adhere to the same standard.

Plugin support is crucial for this type of technology to make chatbots more versatile by gathering information from new sources apart from the initial training. Bing Chat already has plugins from OpenTable, WolframAlpha, Instacart, Kayak, Klarna, Redfion, and Zillow.
