The latest stable release of the Red Panda browser, Firefox 113, has been published by the team of Mozilla coders. This update brings a series of interesting innovations that aim to enhance the user's workflow and the relative UX (User Experience). One of the most notable additions is the support for AVIS images, which is essentially the normal AV1 with an animation feature.
Firefox 113 also introduces a new password generator that creates more robust access credentials with special characters, making them less susceptible to possible attacks of various kinds.
The updated PiP (Picture-in-Picture) mode in Firefox 113 allows users to rewind videos and easily check the playing time and the remaining duration of the movie played in PiP mode. Additionally, a button has been added to enable fullscreen mode more quickly.
For Android users, Firefox 113 brings support for hardware-accelerated AV1 video decoding, which is enabled by default on all devices that support hardware acceleration with the AV1 format.
Alternatively, Firefox also allows software decoding. Furthermore, GPU-accelerated Canvas2D has been activated to further improve browser performance.
This version also includes improvements to the UI (User Interface) of the PDF reader integrated in Firefox. The process of saving documents in PDF format has been simplified, making it the de facto standard for sharing documentation.
Additionally, support for various WebRTC features has been included, improving browser performance during video calls without requiring third-party plugins or dedicated software.
