Usually, one when developing applications on Android does all the programming, debugging and testing on a virtual device on the pc.
Now let’s see the steps to test the app on a real Android device.
The first way we will try to test our application is to copy the file with APK extension to our device.
- First, in the configuration icon of our Android phone or tablet we select the option “Applications” -> and mark the option “Unknown source (Allow installation of non-market applications)”
- From our desktop computer, we send an email to our mobile phone attaching the apk file that is located in the app \ build \ outputs \ apk \ debug directory of our project.
- Open the email from your cell phone and select the attachment. We confirm that we want to install it.
We can now test our application.
