Resources CSV Data Cleaner Skill
CSV Data Cleaner Skill
A ready-to-upload Claude Skill that cleans messy CSV exports and tells you exactly what it changed, so you can trust the result. Includes a sample messy file and the cleaned version to compare.
What it does
Teaches Claude a careful routine for tidy-ups: look first, report the problems with counts, fix only the safe things automatically, ask you about anything ambiguous, save a new file and finish with a change log. Your original file is never overwritten.
Who it's for
Anyone who regularly receives spreadsheets from clients, tools or exports and spends time fixing them by hand: freelancers, small business owners, ops and admin staff, marketers.
What you need
A Claude plan that supports custom Skills, and a CSV file to try it on. No coding needed.
What's included
- Skill folder with a SKILL.md, ready to upload
- Install and try-it instructions
- A sample messy CSV and its cleaned version for comparison
- Built-in rules: never overwrite, never guess missing values, always log changes
How to use it
Upload the zip in Claude under Customize, then Skills. Turn it on, attach a CSV and say 'Clean this CSV'. Read the findings table, answer any questions, then check the change log against the cleaned file. Try the included sample first to see what good output looks like.
